Bookkeeping for Solopreneurs

Your business is bringing in real income. Your bookkeeping may not have caught up yet.

Quackenbush Bookkeeping helps you turn scattered records into accurate, understandable numbers—and figure out the practical next step.

No judgment. No accounting lecture. Just a clear next step.

What's going on

The bank balance is not the whole story.

It tells you how much cash is sitting there today. It does not tell you what you earned, what you owe, whether every transaction made it into the books, or whether the business is actually profitable. That is a lot of responsibility for one number.

Your books should give you a clearer answer.

This may sound familiar:

  • Transactions live across several accounts, cards, or payment platforms.
  • QuickBooks is behind, incomplete, or difficult to trust.
  • Statements and spreadsheets are holding things together. Mostly.
  • Reports exist, but they do not help you make decisions.
  • Tax-time questions keep getting harder to answer.

The Books-in-a-Row Financial Review

Let's figure out what actually needs attention.

The Free Financial Ducks-in-a-Row Consultation looks at four parts of your bookkeeping picture. The goal is clarity—not trying to repair everything during one conversation.

  • Records

Are the business transactions complete and current?

  • Accounts

Are the bank accounts, credit cards, loans, payroll sources, and payment platforms accounted for?

  • Reporting

Can you trust the reports, and do you understand what they are saying?

  • Routine

Is there a realistic process for keeping the books current?

More software does not automatically fix financial confusion. You need complete records, clean data, and someone who can explain what the numbers mean.

What the consultation provides

A clearer view. A practical next step.

We'll talk through how you currently track income and expenses, which accounts and systems are involved, and what is creating the most confusion or consuming the most time.

You should leave with a clearer understanding of what needs attention and what kind of support makes sense. That might be cleanup, QuickBooks setup or correction, training, monthly support, or a combination.

Services

Bookkeeping help based on what the books actually need.

  • One-time bookkeeping cleanup
  • QuickBooks setup or correction
  • Training for routine bookkeeping
  • Ongoing monthly bookkeeping support
  • Monthly review or guidance
  • A combination of cleanup, training, and monthly support

Recommendations and pricing are based on the actual scope of the work. No mystery package chosen from a dropdown.

About Kristy

I like numbers. More importantly, I like making them useful.

I spent eighteen years at Warner Bros. working across accounting, auditing, royalty reporting, financial data, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. A large part of that work involved gathering information from different parts of a complicated business and turning it into one clear, reliable report.

After moving to the Seattle area, I spent five years working through an accounting and finance consulting company. I completed assignments for 13 clients and received positive feedback from all 13.

Quackenbush Bookkeeping is named after my mother's maiden name. I do more than record transactions. I help business owners understand what their numbers are telling them.

  • Accounting degree
  • 18 years at Warner Bros.
  • 5 years in accounting and finance consulting
  • 13 consulting assignments with positive feedback from all 13
